“Drifters” is one popular television series created on the popular manga of the same name. The manga was directed & written by Kouta Hirano and was first released on April 30, 2009. The series’ first season hit television screens four years ago. It was declared between October-7, 2016, and December 23, 2016. Although only 12 episodes were aired, the show gained immense popularity. It was an accomplishment because of its storytelling. Due to the success of season1, the second sequel was particular. However, this was a 4-year hiatus.

There is a massive discussion in several anime fan forums online as fans anxiously await the second season. The Season 2 buzz is primarily due to the hint of a sequel in the Season 1 finale of Drifter. But this clue is not going anywhere. We are therefore trying here to decipher these circulars which are circulating.

 Drifters Season 2: Characters

Like any other animated series, The Drifters has multiple characters, but the series’ three main characters are listed below:

Shimazu Toyohisa – He is the key protagonist of the series and is based on a real character of the same name who was a famous samurai fighter. In the series, he tries to save people from the insane rule.

Nobunaga Oda – He was one of Shimazu’s first allies in the fantasy world. He is also called a powerful Japanese warlord.

Yoichi NasuSuketaka – This character is described as a 19-year-old man who became a part of Drifters. He is a skilled archer. He eliminates many opponents in large numbers and thus often gets through the series very quickly.

Drifters Season2: Plot Facts

The show follows the idea of the historical events of the Battle of Sekigahara. The hero of the war, Shimazu Toyohisa, is called to another world along with other historical figures. Then all the warriors form a group called “Drifters.” This story takes place in the context of the 17th century.

The show’s plot describes the story of the main character Shimazu Toyohisa, who invades the new world. He comes from the Middle Ages. He is called into the new world. Then he sees a hallway that contains many doors when he opens his eyes. Shimazu finds the new world more fascinating and delicious.

On his way, he meets many warriors. But discover that this modernity is full of tyranny. So he decides to save people from cruelty and tyranny. Dinghies support each other with their skills and knowledge. Then the local population saves them from the enemy known as “The Ends.”

Drifters Season-2: Trailer

There is no official announcement about season2 so of the anime. So, the trailer is off the cards right now. Looking at the current situation of the Covid-19 Pandemic, we cannot expect any new shows to release their teaser or trailer soon.

Drifters Season 2: Release Date

So far, nothing is official. All we hear are rumours. But after the end of season1, it was declared that the second season would appear every year, as it was called in the last episode of season 1: Continuation in the second. Until next time. However, there are no measures in this regard.

The reason for the delay in season two could be the absence of content. An entire six volumes are available for the show, 4 of which are already included in Season 1. The remaining two volumes may not provide enough content for the entire season.

Hence, we may have to wait for the new volumes to be released to see Season 2. As for the new volumes, the manga writer is still working very hard. While we have confirmation for Season 2, there is no official release date for it yet.

So the next season is confirmed, but 20XX can mean anything, two years or five years or more.
